Can to the Survey macro package an open question option be added? something similar as the option in the survey macro to fill in extra remarks with a poll. An open question should allow a respondent to provide a number of lines of answers. The answers should be visible in an overview, at least for the editor of a survey, but one could also think of providing respondents an overview of the other responses once they have answered a question.

The reason is that if one uses Confluence to conduct surveys, open questions will inevitably be required in some cases. Currently there is no such feature.

This is probably possible.

How do you expect the behaviour:

  • the new questions will be added directly into the macro itself, like on the tasklist-macro
  • the new questions are just saved like the single votes and are suggested to a viewer of the survey, just like comments
  • do you need a further functionality with theses new lines, or would it be good enough to just add a {tasklist} macro after the survey and the new Elements can be copied to the survey. If there is no further benefit to the new lines it is questionable whether this feature will be much of added value. I woult suggest in this case to just add the {tasklist} manually.

Frank, I don't know the {tasklist} macro, or do you imply the http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFEXT/Enhanced+Tasklist ?

Basically it has similar functionality, however the layout and view response options are limited. How can I get an overview of all answers given? Is this like the comment option in the survey macro? In it's current setting, I do not believe the tasklist fits an open question solution

hy Hajo,

i dont know your Confluence-Version but the tasklist ist the successor of the dynamictasklist-macro and gets shipped by default with the latest confluence-versions.

Of course its only a list of additionally tasks/questions which can loosely added to a next survey, but nothing really strong in a 'Give some additional interesting Points you are interested'-Question.

i just thought something like this would be a shortterm workaround as this feature will take a bit, cant be included without a QType-Parameter.

Hi Frank we now have Confluence 2.7.3 and we use dynamictasklist2. But I can do without a workaround for the moment. An open question could only enhance the power of the Confluence poll options
