Plugin Framework Version Matrix

Applications and the Plugin Framework Versions

Almost every Atlassian application has a version of the Atlassian Plugin Framework. However, they may not all have the same version. If you are developing a plugin, you need to know what your version is capable of, and how it will interact with other versions.

The Atlassian Plugin Framework 2 is available in all current Atlassian applications, but may not be available in some older versions.

The table below matches the application versions with Plugin Framework versions:

  • Version numbers without brackets show the earliest release of the application which supports the relevant framework version.
  • Version numbers in brackets show a future application release expected to support the relevant framework version.

Applications and Plugin Module Types

The matrix below lists the Atlassian applications and shows which plugin module types each application supports, assuming that the application supports version 2 of the Plugin Framework. The applications are listed horizontally across the top and the plugin module types are listed vertically on the left. The vertical list also includes miscellaneous other items of interest.
  • Version numbers next to the YES word show the earliest release of the application which supports the relevant module type.
  • Version numbers in brackets show a future release expected to support the relevant module type.

Not all plugin types are shown

The matrix below applies only to applications which support the Plugin Framework 2.0 and later. Also, it shows only the module types which are part of the common Plugin Framework 2.x, not those which are unique to a particular application.
