Attract new customers

There are many ways to attract customer to your add-on. Below we've listed a few. Read into the details of this section for even more tips.

Optimize for search wherever you can

When creating and marketing online content, it's important to think about search engine optimization (SEO). SEO affects the discoverability/ranking of your content in search engines. You should optimize your Marketplace listing and all of your promotional material for SEO. Read more about SEO best practices here.

Separately, check out the Google webmaster tools help and the Google keyword tool. We also recommend integrating your Atlassian Marketplace listing with Google Analytics. The more data you track and record (be conscious of Atlassian's privacy policy and your own privacy policy, along with the need to anonymize), the better you are able to fine-tune your add-on to be successful.

Atlassian Marketplace has its own internal search engine as well. Learn more about optimizing your listing for it here.

Promote your add-on

You want your add-on to stand out. There are several opportunities for you to promote your add-on. It is important to have consistent, tightly-written, and kick-ass promotional materials.

Create a landing page

You can create a landing page on your own company website. On a landing page, you can go into greater level of detail than your listing. If your add-on is not paid via Atlassian, your landing page is the place where your customers can buy your add-on. Your landing page should link back to Atlassian Marketplace.

Get verified

You can apply to become an Atlassian Verified vendor. We introduced the Atlassian Verified program to reward vendors who provide exemplary customer experiences through add-on traction, timely support, and vendor reliability.

Once you are approved, the Atlassian Verified badge will be displayed on all of your add-ons and help customers feel confident in their decision to try and buy your products. Learn more about becoming a Verified vendor here.

Get social

Blogs and other social media are great ways to promote your product. For example, you can use Twitter to send out quick reminders about your add-on or your company. (A hash tag that reads #atlassian or #atlassian_product reaches even more readers.) Remember your existing customers already read your blog and they already use your product. Your blog should emphasize use cases, quick tips for getting more out of the add-on, and of course upcoming releases.

Work with our Solution Partners

Need help getting your add-on to market? Work with a Solution Partner! Solution Partners provide a variety of consulting services.

You can find a Solution Partner and reach out to them via our Solution Partner portal. You can also narrow your search by region, product, and type of service you are looking for.

Get help from Atlassian marketing

Atlassian selectively promotes certain add-ons independently through our blogs, email newsletters, social media mentions, product webinars, and featured listings, both on our company website and on the Atlassian Marketplace.

In general, Atlassian prioritizes marketing support in favor of supported, paid via Atlassian add-ons and focuses on general promotion of the Atlassian Marketplace, rather than individual co-marketing with vendors. However, we're always on the lookout for new opportunities. Just open a ticket request and we will get back to you.
