About External Assets Platform

This documentation is for the ‘External Assets Platform’ - a set of APIs that allows marketplace apps to connect external CMDBs and / or external inventory databases into Jira. It is NOT related to the Assets in Jira Service Management feature set.

The External Assets Platform enables you to link your software with Jira and then populate Jira with your asset inventory. This lets users query for their assets in Jira and link them to issues. You can also provide them with a panel that displays asset related information, which is shown in Jira issues.
