Migration success ratings

We're committed to offering customers a stable and predictable experience when migrating users, groups, Jira/Confluence data, and app data.

This page explains how the Cloud Migration Assistant (CMA) presents apps to customers in different stages, depending on demonstrated app migration success rates.

How do stages work?

We continually monitor success rates for apps that have built automated migration paths using the app migration platform. Based on their demonstrated migration success rate, we put apps in the following stages:

Stage 1

The CMA gives this label to apps with new or experimental automated migration paths.

This label appears on the following screens:

  • 'Assess your apps' screen: Informs customers that apps in this stage have unknown or low migration success rates.
  • 'Check' screen: If customers have selected one or more ‘Stage 1’ apps for migration, this screen displays a preflight check message informing them that choosing ‘Stage 1’ apps can impact the outcome of their migration. We encourage customers to vigorously test migrations with ‘Stage 1’ apps before proceeding to a production run migration.

Stage 2

The CMA gives this label to apps with a demonstrated high migration success rate.

This label appears on the following screens:

  • 'Assess your apps' screen: Informs customers that apps in this stage have demonstrated high migration success rates.
  • 'Check' screen: If customers have selected ‘Stage 2’ apps only for migration, this screen informs them that all selected apps have met the migration success criteria.
