Atlassian offers three cloud deployment environments. The environment your customers are on determines which Forge features and APIs are available to your app.
| Atlassian Cloud | Atlassian Government Cloud (AGC) | Atlassian Isolated Cloud (AIC) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical customers | General enterprise and commercial customers | US government agencies and contractors | Enterprises with strict security, compliance, or data isolation requirements |
| Compliance posture | Standard | FedRAMP Moderate | Dedicated single-tenant VPC; data egress blocked by default |
| Infrastructure | Multi-tenant | Separate perimeter from commercial cloud | Dedicated compute, storage, and networking per customer |
| Encryption | Atlassian-managed | Atlassian-managed | Customer-managed encryption keys (CMK) |
| App compatibility | All Forge apps | Must be enabled for AGC; not available by default | Must be listed on the Isolated Cloud Marketplace; not available by default |
| App installation | Self-service via Marketplace or admin | Atlassian support installs for customers | In-product Marketplace (production); GraphQL mutation (test sites) |
