Frequently Asked Questions

When will the new terms take effect for me? The new terms go into effect on December 3, 2024 for new Developers. For existing Developers, the new terms will take effect on January 3, 2025. If you do not agree to any of the changes, your sole remedy is to terminate this Agreement prior to the date on which the changes are to take effect by (i) providing written notice to Atlassian and (ii) ceasing all use of the Atlassian Platform and any relevant developer credentials.

What are the Atlassian Developer Terms? This is the agreement between Atlassian and third party individuals, Developers or companies that use the Atlassian Platform to develop Apps and integrate with Atlassian Products. It governs the rules for accessing and using the Atlassian Platform, Developer obligations to end users (such as security, provision of legal terms to users, and so on), and other rules of the road for Apps.

Where can I find these Terms? The new terms, effective December 3, 2024 can be found here. An archive of the previous terms can be found here.

Why are they being updated? The point of this refresh is to make sure that the terms (1) support development of Rovo Agents, Loom Apps, and Forge Apps that have adopted Connect modules or Remotes, (2) resolve ambiguity in the Security Incident response process, and (3) improve language around IP ownership.

What are the major changes? See Highlights from the update above.
