My copyright has been infringed and I want to issue a takedown notice

Atlassian abides by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”), 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3). The guidelines are exact and must be followed completely. In order for Atlassian to take action, you must do the following in your notice:

  • Provide your physical or electronic signature;
  • Identify the copyrighted work that you believe is being infringed;
  • Identify the item that you thinks is infringing and include sufficient information about where the material is located (including which website) so that Atlassian can find it;
  • Provide Atlassian with a way to contact you (such as address, telephone number, or email);
  • Provide a statement that you believe in good faith that the item identified as infringing is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law to be used by Atlassian; and
  • Provide a statement that the information you provide in the notice is accurate, and that (under penalty of perjury), you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner whose work is being infringed.

For your convenience, here is a form letter you can use to provide all the required information.

You must contact Atlassian's copyright agent in writing or email copyright@atlassian.com in order for us to take action. You will be contacted regarding next steps once we have received the initial complaint.
