Atlassian Developer AI Chat

The Atlassian developer AI assistant is a chat widget on developer.atlassian.com. It helps developers find guidance about building on the Atlassian platform.

You can use the assistant to ask questions about Atlassian developer documentation, including guidance for Marketplace partners and developers building apps, integrations, and other platform experiences.

The assistant can help you find and understand documentation, but its responses aren't a substitute for official Atlassian support, legal guidance, or Marketplace approval decisions.

How the assistant works

The assistant is provided through Atlassian's Customer Service Management app. It uses Atlassian developer documentation and selected support content to generate responses about building on the Atlassian platform.

The assistant works independently of your Atlassian product licenses, in-product AI features, and organization AI settings. For example, AI settings configured in Atlassian Administration don't control this chat widget.

For clarity, the Atlassian developer AI assistant chat widget isn't considered an "AI Offering" under the Atlassian AI Terms.

Information sources

To provide information that may help answer your question, the assistant uses Atlassian-generated content and documentation about the Atlassian platform from:

The assistant doesn't use private customer data, app data, Marketplace partner account data, or content from Atlassian products to generate responses.

What the assistant can't access or do

The assistant can't perform actions in your Atlassian products, developer sites, Marketplace accounts, or organization settings.

The assistant also can't access or answer questions about private or user-generated content, such as:

Don't enter secrets, credentials, personal data, customer data, or confidential business information into the chat.

Conversation history and data retention

Conversation history is available from the chat history button for 28 days. Conversations are removed from your chat window after this time.

Atlassian may retain and review conversations from the chat feature to improve our documentation and the platform.

Before you use the output

You're responsible for how you use any output from the assistant, including deciding whether the output is accurate and appropriate for your use case.
